Terms and Conditions of M2TM


  1. 1 – That the band adheres to its competition dates and does not pull out of the competition at any stage that has been made by prior agreement, and that any consideration of not attending up to an agreed competition date will be discussed with the organizers in no less than a fortnight from the event.
  2. 2-  We only accept entries from metal bands that perform their own material.  Strictly no covers allowed in the sets.
  3. 3 – That the venue and equipment used in the venue and venue staff will be respected and looked after.  If any damage is caused to the venue or equipment, if any equipment is stolen or if behaviour is deemed to be unreasonable then the band will be disqualified from the competition
  4. 4 – Band will be disqualified if any band members are deemed to have brought the project into disrepute.   No negative campaigns or inflammatory comments will be made about the competition, the venue, the way the competition is run, bands in the competition or any individuals affiliated with the competition.
  5. 5 – We have a strict alcohol policy at The Green Rooms, any band member who is under 18 and is seen consuming alcohol in the premises or around the grounds of the venue will be removed from the venue and their band will be subsequently disqualified.
  6. 6 – Band members are strictly NOT allowed to bring their own alcohol down to the venue, any band members caught bringing their own alcohol or drinking their own alcohol in the venue or around the grounds will be removed from the venue.
  7. 7 – Bands are expected to advertise any and all Metal 2 the masses events that they participate in.  At least one medium of advertisement is expected with though social networks (i.e. Facebook, Myspace), Band websites, Gig guides, local/national press.  Bands are advised to send any details of gig promotion to the organizers for additional support and promotion.
  8. 8- Bands are expected to bring at least 20 guests to any/all events that the band is involved in.  Bringing less than the required amount of guests will be to the detriment of their vote.
  9. 9 – Judges/organizers decisions are final.  Terms and conditions may be changed though the competition

JUDGING PROCEDURE

On arrival your supporters will be issued with a voting slip which must be filled in at the end of the show (or at allotted times throughout the day) and handed in at the voting booths – Voting Procedure and Voting Times will be announced by the Show Host throughout the day.

Supporters will be asked to vote for the following..

1.       1st favourite band of the day.  (worth 30 points)

2.       2nd favourite band of the day. (worth 15 points)

3.       3rd favourite band of the day. (worth 5 points)

Bands will be further judged by a panel (including external partners!!) and the percentage from the table will count for 50% of the vote.

Judging Criteria includes.

Planning/Preparedness

1. Preparation. Tuning – were the instruments and equipment made ready prior to performance?

Did the band start on time?

2. Evidence of rehearsal e.g. lyrics learnt etc?  Appeared ready and prepared to play?

Setlist provided?

Originality

  1. 1. Material. How unique did the songs sound? Did the songs fit the set? Did the

songs fit the genre?

2. Appearance.  Did the band stand out?

3. Interface with audience.  Verbal Interaction? Did the band introduce themselves

at all? Did the band talk to or with the audience? Physical Interaction? Did the

band physically participate with the audience?

Quality of performance

  1. 1. Confidence/Competence. Did the band look at ease whilst playing? Did the band

appear to be able to do what they wanted to do? Was the band confident in

their interaction with the audience?

  1. 2. Stage Presence. Did the band use the stage effectively? Did the band appear

positive about their performance?

Did the band interact effectively on stage? How did the band cope with any

problems they may have encountered?

ALL BANDS PROCEEDING THROUGH WILL BE ANNOUNCED AT THE END OF THE SHOW – SO DON’T SHOOT OFF!!
