First gigs for new bands on the scene!

This weekend proved to be the showcase for two new local bands who did not disappoint with their first shows.

The awesome ‘Delilah Doesn’t Lie’ Green Rooms regular rehearsers and all round nice guys were the second of the two new bands on the line-up. Although nervous before their first gig, they got up and did us proud, and played a blinder of a set. Im sure that if their first gig is this good then there is gonna be something special coming from them in the very near future.

CROWN THE FALLEN

Kicking off the night was Jon Mitchel, promoter of the nights band ‘Crown the Fallen’ and although the set was short – it seems like they have some exciting stuff to come.

Charity gig for the Joshua Foundation at The Green Rooms

A charity gig has been set up by the guys from Clear the Auditorium on the 27th January 2012 to support the Joshua Foundation. The Joshua foundation is a great charity set up to provide holidays and experiences for children and their families where the child is suffering from terminal cancer. Come down and see three awesome bands – Falling with Style, Clear the Auditorium and Still Waiting supporting a truly worthy charity. Its £3 entry and doors open at 7.30pm.

METAL TO THE MASSES FINAL!

This has been a while coming in Blog terms, but thing have been incredibly busy! But it doesn’t make the result of the Metal to the Masses competition any less important.

It has to be said that the final was one of the finest nights of the year, crammed with fans and bands. It was a night of musical awesomeness where the four bands in the final (in no particular order) Mantikore, Intensive Square, Against Fate and Ten Cent Toy, put their all into playing and played some amazing sets. The night was attended by Bloodstock VIP Simon Hall, who is a thoroughly nice chap and who we’d like to thank for all his support and help with our first year of the competition. It was also attended by some of our competition judges- all of which we’d like to thank and say that we couldn’t have done it without you! A massive thank you goes to the awesome Danica and Paul for their amazing work on the door and super hand crossing skills. In amongst the thank yous we’d also like to say a massive thanks to all the bands that put the time, effort and energy into this years competition, and to all their outstanding fans who made the atmosphere electric for the whole competition.

Anyway, lets move on from the thanks and stuff- each and every band on the night played extraordinarily good sets and definitely showed how great the talent in Wales is and just how good the scene can be! Against Fate took to the stage first and set the bar high, followed by Intensive square, Mantikore and finally Ten Cent Toy- all four bands certainly gave excellent competition and showed true sportsmanship by giving their support to all the bands. The moshing was awesome, the air was sweaty, chanting fans were loud, the bands were crazy and the atmosphere was electric.

So, it was down to the final decision of Simon on who he though was the most Bloodstock worthy band of the night, and Intensive Square were victorious. Followed by much celebration of the Intensive Square lad being carried on the shoulders of the crowd and beer sprayed like champagne. They went on to play Bloodstock last weekend in the ‘New Blood’ stage and certainly did the Welsh metal scene proud.

We are also proud to announce that Bloodstock: metal 2 the Masses will be back at the Green Rooms next year!

Well done to all the bands, and we hope that you take part in next years Bloodstock and try to make it bigger, better and even more crazy than this year!

METAL 2 THE MASSES SEMI FINAL 2: THE RESULTS!

Hello all! Here are the eagerly anticipated results from last night ! Thanks again for playing the Metal 2 the Masses Semi final, you were all awesome, and we massively appreciate you entering and making the semi final an awesome one! It was a massive night last night and a big thanks go out to all the fans that came down and made it a cracking evening.

Here are the results!

1ST place: Intensive Square 32.50% of the total votes

2ND Place: Mantikore 25.26% of the total votes

3RD place: Akb’al 22.51% of the total votes

4TH place: Kill the Messenger 19.73% of the total votes

Here’s some interesting facts for you!!

Intensive Square had the highest combined judges votes of the whole competition and were only 1 point off maximum points over all of the sheets.

Akb’al were most voted as the public’s second favourite band!

Kill the Messenger finished the night on an awesome note with all the bands rocking out to them!

Mantikore suffered the most spelling errors of the night! See below:

Spelling mistake corner this week: There were a few spelling mistakes on the public vote sheets including ‘Intensive Squint’, ‘Mantikock’, ‘intentive Squire’, ‘Man tikert’,'Nanti and someone thinks that ‘Liam’ and Ricky Tan’ were in the running for second and third place bands of the night.

So Congratulations , INTENSIVE SQUARE AND MANTIKORE we’ll see you in the FINAL, we’ll be sending you details shortly, so keep checking your emails!

We’ll be keeping all your details and will be keeping you in mind/putting you forward with promoters if gig slots become available.

METAL 2 THE MASSES SEMI FINAL 1 RESULTS!!!!

Hello All! We’d like thank all the wicked bands that played last night for making it an immense Semi Final 1. And not forgetting all the awesome fans, supporters and other bands that have been in the Metal 2 the Masses competition that came down and showed their support. Last night was awesome – here’s the results!

1ST place: Fourth Autumn 29.68% of the total votes

2ND Place: Ten Cent Toy 27.81% of the total votes

3RD place: Against Fate 22.63% of the total votes

4TH place: Pandamonium 19.88% of the total votes

Here’s some interesting facts for you!!

One of the independent judges liked Fourth Autumn so much that he voted them only 1 point off maximum points!

Ten Cent Toy were scored exactly the same score by both judges (spooky!) and were only 14 points off maximum on each score card.

Against fate actually brought the most fans for the night by the look of the first place votes on the score cards but were let down on their second and third place votes.

A wicked comment was left for Pandamonium from one of the judges ‘would be interested to see this band in a year or two as I believe they will be a great band with a bit more experience behind them’

Somebody really likes Jesus and voted him in as their 3rd favourite band of the night.
There were some humorous spelling mistakes and name errors this time, with Pandamonium being the spelling issue of the night including ‘Pandamonia’ ‘Pendimonium’ and ‘Padamoniaum’ awesome!

So Congratulations FOURTH AUTUMN and TEN CENT TOY we’ll see you in the finals on the 30th July, and we’ll be sending over the info for the finals shortly, so keep checking your emails!
