Due to a few technical difficulties this blog has taken longer than anticipated, but hopefully it does not detract from the awesomeness of the Metal 2 the Masses: Grand Finale.
It has to be said that all four bands were on absolute top form and played amazingly. Even Simon Hall from Bloodstock who made the final choice on the band that will play Bloodstock said that it was an incredibly close call and a very difficult one to judge. – However, the final decision was made and HAKIN are now off to Bloodstock to play alongside some really great and iconic bands. We wish them the very best of luck and hope they get spotted to go on and play either Waken openair 2013 or Metal camp 2013.
A massive thanks goes out to all the bands that took part this year, and to the four bands in the final that showed such professionalism and comeradery during the night. A big thanks also goes out to the wicked fans that came down to support their band and I realise that although there was dissapointment for three bands, they should be proud that they not only got to the final but showed how awesome the metal scene is in Wales, and how good the support for local bands is.
Last but not least a big thanks goes out to Simon Hall for being a top chap and taking it upon his shoulders to pick the final winning act, Lee and Jordan for doing a wonderful job with the sound for the entire competition. Peter (for his amazing enthusiasm even when on holiday!), Charliee, Ryan, Greg, Dean, Gareth and the team of judges that stuck their necks out and judged the competition fairly and honestly. A big shout out to Paul who is always great! and to a weenie metal head called Danica who has not only helped with most of the Metal 2 the Masses heats but was a phenomenal help during the final and a credit to the competition.
A big congratulations goes out to Hakin again, we’ll see you at Bloodstock guys!!
