Against Fate started the night in fine form -a five-piece metal band with a hardcore metal crossover sound, dual guitaring and dual vocals – angry, shouty vox and a more calm mellow vocals were inspired. They have a crazy hard hitting drummer and for some reason had a bassists in a long black wig! Quite a short set but some good punchy songs from these guys.. Check them out here!
Storm the walls were up next -an awesome live band that don’t stop moving for the entire set, angry and aggressive with some awesome raw power and an wild bassist who tends to fling himself around and throw himself off stage, causing the crowd to stand back with amazement (and fear?!) Green Rooms regulars The Last Broadcast started the 2stepping for the evening and really kicked off the crowd, heavier beat downs than ever before. This band always know how to get the crowd involved and tonight was no exception blasting out tunes and evoking wild arm swinging two stepping from the crowd. A great band to watch live and always seem to be improving every time they play. Check them out here!
This Distance hit the stage next, or rather the drummer did with the stage all to himself. An awesome band hailing from Swansea with a melodic hardcore sound that thrashes into full-on heavy beatdowns, a hardcore band that are not afraid to go back to some old school hardcore roots. Formed in 2007, it seems as though they are constantly busy gigging and doing it awesomely. Check these guys out here!
Heading the awesome night was the heavy-heavy Silent Screams, the last chance to catch them before they jet off for a tour of Australia. These guys don’t seem to be afraid of a little DIY action and seem to be orgainsing the band and their tour themselves. This band kicked the crowd up to a frenzy and ended up returning to the stage to avoid the flailing arms and crazy 2stepping on the dancefloor below. Carrying on the theme of the evening the drummer hit the bejeesus out of his drums and ended up breaking a cymbal, Super fast- super heavy, super hardcore! Check them out here!
