Top notch!
20th Feb saw Kiss Silver at The Green Rooms supported by Fret to Society and Pretend I Saved the Day, It was a shame that the audience we few and far between as the bands were top notch.
Kicking off the evening was the acoustic solo artist Pretend I Saved the Day, better known as Joe. An act defines melancholy reflective song writing. One song ‘Waves’ particularly stood out and summed up his writing and performance style. He performed a short set, it was a shame he couldn’t stay around to support the other bands on the bill as they were really good! Listen to his tracks here…..
Up next the Awe-inspiring Fret to Society who will soon be changing their name. Originally a five-piece but now a more streamline three piece, these guys are very young but play like pros. They play very energetic, catchy rock songs like MIS and Promises and are a great band to see live, they ooze confidence and play their instruments effortlessly. Try to get to see these guys in action if you can and check them out here. They played out their set with a heavy rock version of ‘Jingle Bells’ – classic!
Finally the headliners Kiss Silver – took to the stage, or took to the floor in their case! Played Some amazingly funky rock with witty interludes by Matt (the bassist). Again another very catchy band that do what they do really well. Save for some technical hitches during their set they bashed on and were thoroughly enjoyable and really nice guys! Check them out here……
