Sicknote @ The Green Rooms

We were well excited about his one and deservedly so!  As the troupe of Sicknote descended on The Green Rooms with their numerous members, drivers, entourage and fans and a hefty projector the fun began.  Sicknote are a wicked band who are an awesomely amiable bunch of chaps, their compare for the evening Ninjah is the most friendly and chatty guy and one of Cardiff’s best known eccentrics, you may have seen him around Cardiff one or twice!  Their Artwork was put together by the wonderful Norris Nuvo and their support was in the form of the witty singer/songwriter Cosmo and DJ Tommy Tank.  They also brought along with them their devoted band of followers who were a truly awesome crowd.

Kicking the night off and introduced by Ninjah was a selection of films made by the awesome artist Norris Nuvo, a prominent Welsh artist and film maker who has not only taught graphic and multimedia design but has edited and produced graphic artwork for various universities.   He lends himself to the artwork of Sicknote and does a bloody good job – producing work that both sums up the band and their music.    Its well worth checking out his artwork and short films here http://www.norrisnuvo.co.uk.

With his unique one man with a guitar act, Cosmo mixes political folk with witty humour, catchy sing-a-long choruses and a bit of beatboxing in the mix.  This guy is like a one man band except much more entertaining both lyrically and musically.  He has previously shared the stage with some  big-hitters such as the Manic Street Preachers and Pete Doherty and has performed at Glastonbury so we were lucky to have him at The Green Rooms.  Cosmo is a true entertainer with an exceptional stage presence and music talent.  He conveys his messages well through song and keeps the crowd going with his stand-up style wit.  He got the crowd ready for Sicknote with such catchy numbers as ‘Im  a suicide bomber in your heart’ and finished on a high with ‘Oi mush’ that got everyone singing along.  His latest album is out now and called ‘Citizen Smith’  go and check Cosmo out HERE and get a copy!

DJ Tommy Tank got the crowd moving next – It was his birthday and was in fine form.  Mixing on the spot he’s a excellent DJ with amazing skills on the decks.  He’ll be doing a special live mix on the 21st April on The Sandwich Show on Brapp.FM.  Click HERE for a link to the Sandwich Show and click HERE for a link to DJ Tommy Tanks site.

The much awaited Sicknote were up next and blew the crowd away with their mind-boggling mix of visuals and catchy beats they are an amazing band who get the crowd moving every time.  They are a band that you really have to see live to appreciate the weird and wonderfulness that is Sicknote.  Johan Flapsandwich provides the banging mixes with Filthy keeping immaculate time on the drums.  Johnny No Cash sorts the awesome visuals, Doghouse is the vocal extraordinaire and their crazy dancers Doktor Conker and Sparticus provide the on-stage entertainment.  They don’t fit into any box or genre and that’s what makes them completely different to any other band.  These are most definitely one of the best bands we have ever seen live.  Awesome guys + awesome visuals +awesome music = a thoroughly awesome night!  HERE is a link to Sicknote Site and HERE is a link to their Tantrum label.

Last but not least we ahve to thank the wierdly wonderful Ninjah for comparing and generally entertaining the crowd for the evening.  Sporting the best earings I have ever seen and munching cake – he’s an all-round lovely chap!   HERE is a link to the wonderful world of Ninjah!

A big thanks also goes out the John Ninnis for filming some extraordinary video of the evening which can be seen below:

How very dare you. We tried to warn you. With Easter just around the corner this is in very bad taste. We have already been in touch with Cllr Robert Smith, Major of Rhondda Cynon Taff and are applying to have you licence remove and the individual responsible for booking this depraved affront to humanity hung, drawn and quartered.

It would appear from the video you ‘proudly’ display on this page that they had their pet Scottish sodomite in tow.

We will continue to pray for you souls while wishing you eternal damnation.

Thanks Vick and Wayne for a wicked night… I was really impressed with the club, and of course the friendliest welcome from you and your staff.
Did you ever get your bits of chandelier back off Ninja?
I saw him arguing his case for keeping them at the end of the night and didn’t envy the person trying to get them back off him. Lol
What I love about the place is the location… well out of the way, and so preventing the likes of Mr Tupwitt… a heinious creature who spits out bile under the pretence of spititual righteousness… I will pray for his soul and hope he leaves the damnation of this earthly visit soon… Lol
Norman I love you!!! Accept, and assume the position!!!
Anyway… was a truely awesome night. We must do it again sometime.
Thanks again Vick and Wayne, and best of luck with future events!!!
PS. Norman… come down to the next one… I have healing hands and promise you redemption!!! XXX

I would like to apologise for any mutilations, kidnappings, murders or bouts of cannibalism that Foggerton may have instigated at your wonderful establishment.

I can assure you that he has now been wrapped in chains, locked in a trunk and tossed into the fires of Hell. However he does have a habit of escaping so you had better lock your doors at night now he knows where you are.
