Different to say the least…..
On a bleak cold Saturday at the start of February (6th to be exact!) The Green Rooms hosted something a bit different – part acoustic, part indie and part experimental jazz rock the lineup was a bit of a pick n mix (which was nice) crammed full of talent.
Starting the night in amazing form were The Undivided – with a guitarist flaunting a pedal board that put most guitar shops to shame. They kicked off the evening with a bang. What can only be described as incredibly catchy indie with some friendly banter between songs, these guys are truly indie pop tarts at their best. Playing new a new song called ‘Bullets’ and songs from their three track demo ‘Devil’ they are definitely worth a listen and are very entertaining to watch! Talented guys who deserve to go far……. Check them out here. (Ps sorry we couldn’t join you for your after gig, hotel room party – hope it was good
)
Johnny Alchemist- the next awesome addition to the evening took to the stage with just his acoustic guitar and amazing vocals, pure energy, wit, vocal range and quirkiness – you could ask for nothing better. This guy has to be seen to be believed and blew everyone away. With well known classics like his re-imagination of ‘House of the Rising sun’, his own unique material, witty observational interludes and some ad-libs such as his ‘Abstract Confusion Song’ Johnny Alchemist is an unconventional crowd pleaser. Go forth and check him out here - he is also a member of ‘The Method’ don’t you know click here to check them out too!
Finally with the music introduction of the song – ‘Dy-no-mite’ by Otis Day and the knights. Life! Death! Prizes! graced the stage. Belting out songs like ‘Black Dynamite’ this band’s music is hard to describe (but we’ll have a go!) Shouty, growling singing, jazz experimental rock perhaps?! All round nice guys with a completely crazed front man crawling around on his hands and knees on stage, they finished the night in fine form. Check them out here
