Big Al and Phil (Monday Massacre) bring the METAL!!!!!
What was supposed to be a canceled 6 band line-up, was brought back from the dead by Big Al and Phil. With the venue almost crammed to max capacity the night proved to be a huge success! The night put back together and promoted in under three days was testament to these guys promoting skills and the bands that pulled together and made the night.
Kick starting the night off was one of our rehearsing bands (and all round good eggs) Signal:fire. In their matching stage outfits, they got the crowd going and are always a great band to see live. Playing one of our favorite songs ‘Tribute to a Gunshot Bride’ which always sticks in your head – they did good. Check out their myspace here and get a copy of their demo!
Next up were Traitors pull triggers – despite a couple of technical hitches – they went on to play a blinding set. With some awesome breakdowns and tasty riffs. Its a real shame that we didn’t manage to get any photos of the band as the bar was crammed – many apologies guys! But hopefully they’ll be back so we can snap some next time. Check out their myspace here
Third on the bill were Chase the Sunset – this five piece brought a more technical progressive feel to the night. Wickedly tight as a band and very talented these guys have re-invented themselves and have done it well! Check out some photos below and make sure you get a look at their Myspace here
Fourth up were Hey! Tonight With the addition of the synth we thought we were in for the regular pop punk, but NO – these guys write catchy tunes that cross music genres. Its fun, catchy and thoroughly enjoyable. Check out their Myspace page here for a taste of their punky-anthems and some excellent reviews.
The penultimate band Monday Massacre fronted by Phil (also the co-promoter of the night) brought some massive progressive-hardcore and really got the crowd going. Stamping his authority in the crowd, Phil and gang started an awesome mosh-fest. These are a really awesome band that should be seen live and have just been signed to Blue Sugar records. Check out their Myspace page here and get hold of their EP as its great!
Last but not least were the immense Through Solace. With the release of their Album ‘The World on Standby’ they thrashed the Green Rooms with their melodic hardcore blended with early metal-core. There was a real buzz for this band and the crowd went into overdrive for them. An excellent band with a lot of promise – check them out at their Myspace site here, buy a copy of their new album and grab some merch whilst you are at it!
